Pinelands Recovery Center of Medford is a residential drug and alcohol rehab in Medford, New Jersey, set on a quiet, tree-lined campus away from city life. They provide detox, medication-assisted treatment, and residential care with round-the-clock medical and nursing oversight, and length of stay is based on each person’s clinical needs. Care is split into two separate 30-bed programs, each in its own building: one for young adults ages 18 to 35, and one for adults 35 and older who may be balancing relationships, children, aging parents, or financial pressures. Their team includes physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, and therapists, many of whom are in recovery themselves, and they accept most commercial insurance but not Medicaid, Medicare, or NJ FamilyCare.

Treatment is individualized, with a counselor-to-patient ratio of 1:8 and a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, psychodrama, experiential therapy, Conscious Recovery, and 12-step facilitation. Every patient is paired with a certified recovery coach, and their recovery mentor program was linked to lower readmission rates in research conducted with Rutgers University. Families are assigned a dedicated counselor and can join a Family Wellness Program covering addiction education, codependency, and self-care, along with therapy sessions held in person or over Zoom.
