Phoenix House Florida is a nonprofit substance use treatment provider based in Tampa that has served the Tampa Bay area for about 25 years, caring for both adults and teens. They treat addiction to alcohol, heroin, cocaine, prescription medications, marijuana, over-the-counter drugs, and other substances, along with co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, and bipolar disorder. Their care spans outpatient and intensive outpatient programs in the greater Tampa area, residential treatment at the Orient Wellness Center in Tampa, and a residential campus in Citra with withdrawal management for men and women. At Orient Wellness Center, treatment is free for people who qualify under the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan, and walk-ins are accepted on weekdays.

Treatment starts with an assessment and an individualized plan, then combines individual and group therapy, family and couples therapy, trauma-informed care, psychiatric medication management, and recreational therapy. Residents at Orient also receive case management, medical, dental, and vision care, and practical support through county partnerships, including job-readiness training, housing assistance, vocational and college opportunities, and courses on financial literacy, nutrition, and family support. Women in Citra can choose the Murray Center for Women, a separate residential program offering trauma-informed, gender-specific care, while teens and their families can turn to the Derek Jeter Center for adolescent outpatient services. Phoenix House Florida is CARF-accredited, accepts Medicaid and most major insurance plans, and offers self-pay options, with flexible outpatient hours for working adults and students.
