About PeaceWay Counseling and

PeaceWay Counseling & Mediation Services is an outpatient clinical practice in Valdosta, Georgia, serving individuals and families across South Georgia. They are a state-approved substance abuse treatment provider and also address mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and family conflict. Their approach draws on social learning theory, the idea that behavior is shaped by the people, places, and things around us and can be unlearned, with clinicians acting as coaches who work alongside the family. Care is delivered on an outpatient basis, with groups held on weekday evenings so clients can keep working while in treatment.

Substance use services begin with a clinical evaluation and continue through individual and group therapy, guided by individualized treatment plans that staff review regularly as clients progress. For families needing more hands-on support, their Community Support Individual (CSI) program sends a clinician to meet with the family several times a week for about six months, in the home, at school, in the community, or in the office. They also offer DUI school, Moral Recognition Therapy, anger management, a state-approved family violence intervention program, and marital, family, and parenting counseling. They accept Medicaid, including traditional Medicaid, Peach State, Wellcare, and Amerigroup plans.
