About PBMHR Region XII

PBMHR Region XII is part of Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, a nonprofit community mental health center serving McComb and Pike County among 18 counties across south Mississippi. Founded in 1973, they provide community-based behavioral healthcare for adults, children and adolescents, and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, along with a dedicated chemical dependency program. For people struggling with drugs or alcohol, they offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment, and their outpatient programs serve people with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or both at once. Their stated aim is to help each person reach a stable, fulfilling level of functioning at home and in the community.

Addiction treatment centers on individual, group, and family counseling, with outpatient services that vary in intensity to match each person’s needs and can be delivered in the community as well as at their own locations. Because they are a full mental health center, people with co-occurring conditions can access dual diagnosis therapy, psychiatric care, psychiatric nursing, and case management, including more intensive case management for those who need extra support. Additional services include 24-hour crisis intervention, person-centered planning, family education, special services for people living with HIV, and transitional living apartments and employment programs for adults rebuilding stability. They are accredited by CARF and certified by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
