About PBMHR Region XII
PBMHR Region XII in Summit, Mississippi, is part of Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, a nonprofit community mental health center founded in 1973 that serves 18 counties across southern Mississippi, including Pike County. Alongside adult psychiatric, youth, and developmental disability services, they provide chemical dependency treatment at both inpatient and outpatient levels. Their outpatient programs work with people facing substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorders, and the overall aim is to help each person function as well as possible at home and in the community. Pine Belt is accredited by CARF and certified by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
Treatment centers on individual, group, and family counseling, and outpatient care is offered at varying levels of intensity depending on a person’s needs. Dual diagnosis therapy is available for those managing addiction together with a mental health condition, and support can extend to psychiatric services, psychiatric nursing, and case management. Some care is delivered out in the community rather than only at a clinic. They also run a 24-hour crisis line and offer specialized services for people living with HIV, as well as transitional living apartments and employment programs for adults rebuilding stability.
