About PBMHR Region XII
PBMHR Region XII in Collins, Mississippi, is part of Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources, a nonprofit community mental health center that has served south Mississippi since 1973. They provide behavioral healthcare across 18 counties, including Covington County, and their substance use treatment is one of four core service areas, alongside adult mental health, child and adolescent services, and intellectual and developmental disability services. Their chemical dependency services are offered at both inpatient and outpatient levels of care, and their outpatient programs serve people with substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders. Their stated aim is to give people the support they need to reach their best possible functioning at home and in the community.
Substance use treatment centers on individual, group, and family counseling, with outpatient services available at varying levels of intensity and delivered both at Pine Belt sites and in the community. Adults with co-occurring conditions can receive dual diagnosis therapy, along with psychiatric care, psychiatric nursing, case management, and crisis intervention. Longer-term recovery supports include psychosocial rehabilitation through a clubhouse model, transitional living apartments, transitional employment programs, and specialized services for people living with HIV. Pine Belt is accredited by CARF and certified by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
