About Pawnee Mental Health Services

Pawnee Mental Health Services is a community mental health center with an office in Marysville, Kansas, and locations across a 10-county service area. Their recovery services help adults and adolescents struggling with substance use, including people dealing with co-occurring mental health conditions, and take a whole-person approach covering physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual health. Care ranges from non-medical social detox through intensive outpatient and standard outpatient treatment, along with a sober living home for men. People can start at a Same Day Access Walk-In Clinic without a referral, and services are available regardless of ability to pay, with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and a sliding fee scale accepted.

Counseling draws on Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with attention to emotional regulation, social skills, goal setting, and relapse prevention. The intensive outpatient program runs four to six weeks at more than 10 hours of therapy per week before clients step down to individual and group outpatient care. The Discovery Sober Living House offers men a free place to stay while they build job and independent-living skills, with case management, therapy, psychiatric medication management, peer support, and a house manager on site. Adults in early withdrawal who don’t need medical care can use a supervised social detox bed with 24-hour staff and discharge planning, and the program also offers court-related services such as Alcohol and Drug Information School, anger evaluations, and domestic violence assessments.
