About Pathways Inc
Pathways Inc is a community behavioral health center serving ten counties in northeastern Kentucky, including Montgomery County, where Mount Sterling is located. Their roots go back to a regional mental health board formed in 1966, and they have operated as Pathways since a 1982 merger. They treat substance use and mental health conditions together through integrated outpatient care for adults, children, and adolescents, adult crisis stabilization, and residential addiction treatment, along with walk-in crisis services during business hours and a 24/7 help line. They don’t turn anyone away for inability to pay, offer a sliding fee scale to those who qualify, and provide direct services for deaf and hard-of-hearing clients.
For opioid use disorder, they offer Vivitrol and Suboxone combined with individual and group therapy, case management, and peer support. Their Matrix Model program runs 16 weeks, with three group sessions a week that blend cognitive behavioral therapy, family education, relapse prevention, and drug testing, and clinicians also draw on Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR for trauma. Men who are homeless or unstably housed can enter the Genesis Recovery Kentucky Center, a nine-to-twelve-month residential program built on a social model of peer accountability, life skills, and a gradual move toward employment. Journey House is an eight-bed transitional home for mothers working to keep or regain custody of their children, with a stay of at least five months that includes the COR-12 curriculum, parenting classes, and 12-Step meetings.
