About Pathways Center
Pathways Center is a community-based behavioral health provider serving a ten-county region of west-central Georgia, including Troup County, where LaGrange is located. For more than 45 years, they have offered mental health care, substance use treatment, crisis services, and support for intellectual and developmental disabilities to children, adolescents, and adults. Their approach centers on person-centered care that adjusts intensity to each individual’s assessed needs. For addiction, they offer short-term residential detox (ASAM Level 3.7-D) and outpatient treatment at ASAM Levels 0.5 and 1.
The sub-acute detox program provides round-the-clock medical monitoring of withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs over roughly three to seven days, for anyone age 12 and older. Admission can be voluntary or by physician certificate or probate judge’s affidavit. Outpatient care includes individual, group, and family counseling and education, along with psychiatric treatment, medication management, and nursing services, delivered either in a clinic or in the community. Adults living with serious mental illness and co-occurring conditions can also use Assertive Community Treatment, a 24/7 mobile team, plus peer support groups, psychosocial rehabilitation programs (including New Direction and Positive Options in Troup County), and supported community residential living.
