About Pathway Program
Pathway Program is a family-owned addiction treatment provider in Tempe, Arizona, serving teens ages 13 to 17 and young adults in their late teens and twenties, with additional locations in Northern California. Their programs are built specifically for young people rather than adapted from adult treatment, and they focus on the emotional, social, and mental needs that come with drug and alcohol problems at this age. Care includes individual counseling, intensive outpatient programs for both teens and young adults, and a 45-day residential option for teens offered through their partner, Step Two Recovery Center. Every client starts with a free evaluation to determine the right level of care, and that placement can be adjusted as treatment progresses.
The teen intensive outpatient program, their most popular track, runs six to 12 weeks with four-hour group sessions Monday through Friday, along with individual counseling, family sessions, and an introduction to working the 12 steps. A defining feature is what they call enthusiastic sobriety: three peer support meetings and two sober social events each week help young people build friendships and learn to enjoy life without substances. Families are treated as central to recovery, so parents attend weekly support groups and family sessions alongside their child. Their entire staff is in long-term recovery, and they provide long-term aftercare at no extra cost so young people can keep practicing relapse-prevention skills once formal treatment ends.
