About Passages to Recovery
Passages to Recovery runs Passages West Homestead, a 56-bed residential drug and alcohol treatment center for men and women in Homestead, Pennsylvania, near the Homestead Grays Bridge. They treat substance use while also addressing the trauma, mental health concerns, and family dynamics that often feed into it, and they regard addiction as an illness with complex roots that people can recover from, even when progress isn’t linear. Their residential program is a clinically managed, high-intensity level of care, and they also offer outpatient treatment in downtown Pittsburgh along with peer and family recovery supports. They serve people across Allegheny County, including non-violent offenders and families affected by a loved one’s addiction.
In residential care, clients follow an individualized plan built around their needs, strengths, and goals, with group and individual therapy, psychoeducation, medication-assisted treatment when prescribed, connections to mental health services, and aftercare planning. Staff can also link clients to health care, employment help, housing assistance, and other basic needs, then step them down into outpatient care or peer and family support. The outpatient program adjusts intensity and frequency to each person, offering day and evening sessions as well as telehealth, and every outpatient client can work with a Certified Recovery Specialist who has lived experience of long-term recovery, at no cost for those who qualify. They accept Medical Assistance and many other insurance plans, offer a sliding fee scale for outpatient care, and help uninsured clients find coverage or funding.
