The Pascua Yaqui Behavioral Health Program, known as Centered Spirit, is the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s culturally grounded mental health and substance use program, serving enrolled tribal members and their immediate families through offices in Guadalupe (Tempe) and Tucson, Arizona. As part of the tribe’s Health Division, they offer confidential outpatient care that includes individual, couples, family, and group therapy, methadone and Suboxone maintenance, psychiatric evaluation, medication follow-up, youth life skills groups, and crisis evaluations. Getting started begins with a weekday phone screening, after which a member services specialist matches the person or family with a clinician. Together they build an Individual Service Plan with counseling goals that can be revisited every six months.

For adults who need a higher level of care, the Men’s and Women’s PATH residential programs (Tu’iriauvicha Vo’o) in Tucson blend psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic groups with sweat lodge, access to traditional healers from Sonora, equine therapy, cultural and community engagement, and referrals for jobs and training. PATH accepts adults 18 and older who are members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, their spouses or family, or members of any federally recognized tribe, and residents commit to at least 90 days, with six months recommended. Parents further along in recovery may qualify for the Transitional Treatment Program, which uses five homes on the Pascua reservation where families can live together while working toward reunification with their children. TTP residents receive individual therapy, group work, and case management, and staff coordinate closely with Tribal Child Protective Services and the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
