About Park Center Inc

Park Center is the community mental health center for Allen, Adams, and Wells counties in northeast Indiana, which includes Decatur, and operates as part of Parkview Behavioral Health Institute. They serve people regardless of ability to pay, place of residence, or age, and they treat both mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Through the larger Parkview network, care ranges from inpatient units, where psychiatrists see patients daily and can adjust medications quickly, to outpatient therapy and intensive outpatient programs. Treatment plans are built around each person’s needs rather than a single fixed track.

Their intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) meet three hours a day, three days a week, and usually last 4 to 12 weeks. The core of each program is therapist-led group work, which can be paired with individual therapy, family therapy, skill training, and care coordination. Addiction-focused IOPs are available for adults and for adolescents starting at age 12, alongside specialty tracks for women’s trauma, anxiety and OCD, and school refusal, plus a summer-only program for children ages 5 to 11. Sessions run at different times to fit work schedules, staff can help with FMLA and short-term disability paperwork, no referral is needed, and the team handles insurance authorization, can connect participants with a prescriber for medication management, and builds a discharge plan before the program ends.
