About OVP Health Logan
OVP Health Logan is an outpatient health center in Logan, West Virginia, run by OVP Health, a physician-owned healthcare organization based in Huntington that serves communities across West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia. Their addiction program treats opioid dependency and other substance use disorders with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) paired with counseling. They approach addiction as a medical condition to be managed like diabetes or high blood pressure, using buprenorphine (Suboxone) and naltrexone (Vivitrol) to ease cravings and stabilize patients so they can focus on rebuilding their lives. Their MAT and counseling programs have held CARF accreditation continuously since 2016.
Counseling is central to the program, and every MAT patient takes part in both individual sessions and group therapy with licensed therapists. Treatment plans are built around each person’s needs, beliefs, and personality, as well as how earlier treatment attempts went. Because people in recovery often have other health concerns, the outpatient centers also provide primary care to MAT patients, and the organization offers behavioral health care for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, with many visits available by telehealth. For anyone who needs a more intensive setting, OVP Health also operates a residential recovery center in South Point, Ohio, and they accept most commercial plans, Medicaid, and Medicare.
