About Outreach Management Services

Outreach Management Services is a CARF-accredited community behavioral health agency in Gastonia, North Carolina, serving children, adults, and families who are dealing with mental health concerns, substance use, or both. Their approach centers on delivering care within a person’s home and community and building on natural supports, with the goal of helping each person live as independently and productively as possible. Services include outpatient therapy, medication management, substance abuse intensive outpatient (SAIOP), partial hospitalization, intensive in-home services for children, and tailored care management. They are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and certified by Medicare and Medicaid.

In the SAIOP program, which serves both adults and youth, participants build their own relapse prevention plan, learn how drugs affect the body and mind, identify their personal triggers, and connect with local recovery supports. The partial hospitalization program offers structured group treatment with medical monitoring while allowing participants to return home each evening to practice new skills with family. Outpatient individual and group therapy is led by licensed professional counselors, clinical social workers, and substance abuse counselors, while a physician, nurse practitioners, and a registered nurse handle medication management. Under an “any door is a good door” philosophy, they also integrate behavioral health with primary care, and their care managers help eligible Medicaid members coordinate appointments, transportation, medication questions, and community resources, with walk-in screening and referral available on weekday mornings.
