About Our Place Drug and Alcohol Services

Our Place Drug and Alcohol Services is a community-based nonprofit that has served southern Indiana since 1981, including Harrison County, where Corydon is located, along with Floyd, Clark, Scott, and Washington counties. They combine prevention, education, and treatment for youth, adults, and families affected by or at risk from alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. Their care centers on outpatient treatment and an early intervention track, supported by stand-alone substance use assessments and on-site urine drug screening. The overall aim is to give people and families the knowledge, support, and resources to build healthier lives.

Their outpatient program, The Journey, serves both adolescents and adults and uses the Matrix Model, an evidence-based curriculum recognized by SAMHSA. The Early Intervention Program is designed for youths, adults, and families who are running into problems with substances but may not meet the criteria for a substance use disorder. Assessments cover substance use, mental health, and other contributing factors, and they also offer alternative-to-suspension programming that many local schools accept for drug and alcohol policy violations, as well as employee assistance services for workplaces. Families can also turn to supportive programs such as New Beginnings for parents navigating divorce or custody changes and R.O.C.K. for grandparents raising their grandchildren, and a certified peer recovery coach is part of the team.
