About Oakdale Recovery Center
Oakdale Recovery Center is the Canton, Michigan, substance use treatment division of Hegira Health, a nonprofit behavioral health provider serving Western Wayne County. They care for adults 18 and older with substance use disorders, including people who also live with mental health conditions. Care spans medically monitored withdrawal management, short-term residential treatment, and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Admissions are scheduled around the clock, including evenings and weekends, and transportation to and from the facility is available.
The residential program is built on the Stages of Change model and draws on therapeutic community principles, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation. Each day includes group therapy and educational groups, along with individual and family therapy, art therapy, nutrition education, and peer recovery coaching. On-site 12-Step and motivational meetings are also part of the schedule, and 24-hour nursing, psychiatric evaluation, and medication-assisted treatment with buprenorphine, naltrexone, or Vivitrol are available. For those stepping down or needing more than weekly therapy, the IOP offers 9 to 12 hours a week of group and individual counseling, medication management, and substance use monitoring. Families can attend a weekly education session on Sundays, and aftercare planning helps clients line up continued support after discharge.
