About Northern Ohio Recovery Association
Northern Ohio Recovery Association (NORA) is a Cleveland-based chemical dependency provider serving youth, adults, and families across Northeast Ohio. They emphasize culturally relevant care delivered with dignity and respect, and they treat the whole person rather than the addiction alone. Their services include a women’s intensive inpatient program, medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, and an Assertive Community Treatment program for adults with serious mental illness and substance use. They also run community substance abuse prevention efforts, and Newsweek named them to its America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers 2025 list.
Perkins Place is NORA’s gender-specific inpatient program for women, and mothers can bring their children with them. Women there receive individual, group, and family counseling, along with trauma care, parenting support, and counseling for fathers and partners. The program also includes behavioral health services for the children, childcare, transportation help, HIV testing, employment readiness, relapse prevention, and aftercare. NORA’s MAT program pairs medication with counseling, peer support, and case management, and as part of Ohio’s Project DAWN network, they provide overdose education and naloxone. Their ACT program is for Medicaid-eligible adults with diagnoses such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, who receive daily coordinated care from a multidisciplinary team that includes a therapist, a peer supporter, and an employment specialist, with 24/7 access to support.
