About New Vista

New Vista’s Irvine office is a local outpatient location of a community mental health center that serves children and adults across 17 Central Kentucky counties, including Estill County. They offer substance use treatment alongside mental health, intellectual and developmental disability, and primary care services, so people can address addiction and related health needs in one system. Their outlook rests on the belief that anyone can reach recovery and stay sober, and they aim to see new clients quickly at the office closest to home. Across the wider New Vista network, their substance use services also include intensive outpatient, residential treatment, medication-assisted recovery, and drug court programs.

Outpatient addiction care is led by licensed behavioral health professionals and includes individual, family, couples, and group therapy, along with relapse prevention and recovery skill-building. Plans start with a thorough assessment and are shaped around each person’s needs, using approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Psychiatric medication is used sparingly and always paired with ongoing therapy, while care coordinators, case managers, and peer support specialists help clients manage their overall health and connect with community resources. Specialized options such as Seeking Safety and an under-21 DUI program are also available, and telehealth extends counseling to clients who can’t easily travel to an office.
