About New Dawn Enterprises

New Dawn Center, located near Vale, South Dakota, is a transitional residential treatment program for adult men working through drug and alcohol problems. They are connected with Action for the Betterment of our Community, an organization focused on reducing substance use among youth and adults and on addressing other social issues that affect local families’ health and safety. New Dawn operates as an ASAM Level 3.1 low-intensity residential facility, offering a structured living setting with ongoing counseling for men who need support between more intensive care and independent life.

Each week, residents take part in twelve hours of group therapy, one hour of individual therapy, and an hour of intensive case management. Staff work with outside agencies and local businesses to connect clients with as many resources as possible, and the program is built so that men leave with stable housing and an employment plan in place. To be considered for placement, applicants need a drug and alcohol evaluation and a physical, both completed within the past 90 days, along with a TB test from within the past year and a completed pre-intake form. The clinical team reviews each file once everything is submitted before deciding on placement.
