About New Brunswick Counseling Center
New Brunswick Counseling Center is an outpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment provider with a location in Mount Holly, New Jersey, serving Burlington County alongside their original New Brunswick clinic. They treat substance use disorders, including opioid, alcohol, and kratom-related problems, along with co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. Care spans standard outpatient counseling, an adult Intensive Outpatient Program (ASAM Level 2.1), and medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. Their approach is trauma-informed, judgment-free, and person-first, with substance use, mental health, and physical health addressed together.
The IOP typically meets three days a week for about three hours per session and usually lasts four to eight weeks, with in-person, day, and telehealth options so clients can keep up with work, school, and family life. Counseling draws on Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy, delivered through individual, group, and family sessions focused on triggers, cravings, relapse prevention, and continuing-care planning. Care management helps with referrals, benefits, and transportation, and families can receive education, communication coaching, and naloxone training. Individual therapy is available for both teens and adults, interpreter services are offered, and a Renew Mobile Unit brings support out into the community.
