About New Beginnings Alchohol and Drug
New Beginnings Alcohol and Drug Treatment Services is the addiction treatment program of Catalyst Life Services, a private nonprofit in Mansfield, Ohio, that has served the community for more than 65 years and also offers mental health, crisis, vocational, and deaf services. They treat adults 18 and older struggling with alcohol or drug use, including people with co-occurring mental health conditions. Care spans medically monitored detox, gender-specific residential treatment, standard outpatient counseling, and an intensive outpatient program. Walk-in assessments are available on weekdays through their Behavioral Health Urgent Care, which can make getting started easier.
Detox includes round-the-clock nursing supervision, comfort medications for withdrawal symptoms, and a daily visit with a physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, along with groups, peer support, and planning for next steps. Their residential program offers structured programming seven days a week, with New Beginnings I serving men and Veronica’s House serving women; Veronica’s House can also help expectant mothers coordinate prenatal and postnatal care. Residents receive individualized treatment planning, group and individual counseling, family therapy, intensive case management for housing, health care, and employment needs, and referrals for psychiatric care or medication-assisted treatment, with transitional and recovery housing available afterward. The intensive outpatient program meets for three hours, three times a week, so people can keep up with work and family, and Richland County residents may qualify for financial assistance, with full coverage for those on Ohio Medicaid.
