Monarch, Inc. is a nonprofit behavioral health organization in Muskogee, Oklahoma, that has provided addiction treatment since 1981. They began with inpatient care for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, added an outpatient clinic for mental health and substance use in 2013, and opened a separate residential facility for men in 2022. Their approach is trauma-informed, gender-sensitive, and focused on building each person’s strengths rather than dwelling on shortcomings. Services include residential treatment for adults and outpatient counseling for men, women, and children.

In residential care, clients take part in at least 24 hours of substance use treatment each week, and stays usually last about 60 days, depending on individual progress. Group counseling is central to the program, alongside individual and family counseling, relapse prevention, anger and stress management, parenting, grief, nutrition, nicotine addiction, and on-site AA and NA meetings. Staff also help arrange primary medical care, including prenatal care and HIV, STD, and hepatitis testing, and they connect clients with social services in their home communities after discharge. The outpatient program offers individual, group, family, and marriage therapy, along with psychoeducation, case management, and drug testing, and sessions can take place in the office, at home, or at school.
