About Monarch
Monarch, listed in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, is part of Monarch Healthcare, a statewide behavioral health and human services provider that has served North Carolinians since 1958. They take a trauma-informed approach to care for people living with substance use disorders, mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries. Their addiction services address alcohol, tobacco, opioids, and other substances, mainly through outpatient therapy, medication management, and community-based support. New patients can usually be seen the same day through Open Access, which offers walk-in or virtual assessments.
Care starts with a full assessment by a licensed mental health professional, who works with the person to build an individualized treatment plan. From there, therapy can take place in person at a clinic or through telehealth, and people may be referred to group therapy, medication support, crisis services, or peer support from staff with lived recovery experience. For people who need more intensive help in the community, they offer Community Support Team and Assertive Community Treatment Team services, as well as Individual Placement and Support to help people find work during recovery. They also provide family peer support for caregivers, Medicaid Tailored Care Management, mobile clinics in rural Northeast North Carolina, and a free curriculum on addiction for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
