Mirror, Inc. is a behavioral health organization in Wichita, Kansas, that has focused on substance use disorders since 1972 and operates treatment centers across the state. They treat drug and alcohol addiction, offer dual-diagnosis counseling for co-occurring mental health concerns, and build their approach on the belief that lasting change comes from within and grows through practice rather than talk alone. Care begins with an assessment to determine the right level of care, and options range from 24-hour residential treatment and a residential reintegration program to intensive outpatient (9 to 15 hours a week), standard outpatient, and aftercare. At their Reflections Recovery Center in Wichita, a 12-bed adolescent residential unit serves boys and girls ages 12 to 17 and gives families their own tools to support a teen’s recovery. Medication-assisted treatment is offered to all clients under a physician board-certified in addiction medicine, using medications such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and naloxone for opioid and alcohol use disorders. Peer mentors in long-term recovery work alongside case managers to help clients overcome practical barriers and connect with housing, education, employment, and community support, while staff also help with legal, medical, transportation, and childcare needs. For people with legal involvement, they provide DUI, court-mandated, and jail assessments, eight-hour Alcohol and Drug Information School classes, and residential reentry centers in Wichita and Topeka for individuals returning from federal custody.
