About Midwest ADP

Midwest ADP is a counseling and court services provider in Independence, Missouri, serving people across the Kansas City metro area who have been ordered by a judge to complete a class or who need Missouri’s Substance Awareness Traffic Offender Program (SATOP) after a DWI or DUI arrest. In addition to SATOP screenings and all four SATOP service levels, they provide alcohol and drug education, outpatient counseling, and supervised probation. Their aim is to make court requirements and driver’s license reinstatement as straightforward as possible for the people they work with.

Everyone entering SATOP begins with a screening that combines a driving record review, blood alcohol level at the time of arrest, a computer-scored assessment, and an interview with a substance use counselor, and the results determine placement in the OEP, WIP, CIP, or SROP level. Screenings can be started from home, and with approval from the Missouri Department of Mental Health, parts of the programming run over Zoom, including evening and daytime education classes and weekend intervention sessions. Beyond SATOP, they offer an eight-hour driver improvement course certified by the Missouri Safety Center, a four-hour shoplifting education class, and victim impact panels, with some sessions held in person in Independence, Gladstone, and Midtown Kansas City. All programs require pre-registration, and walk-ins are not accepted.
