Mental Health Resources, Inc. is a private, nonprofit behavioral health agency based in Clovis, New Mexico, serving communities across the eastern part of the state with both mental health and substance use care. Founded in 1976 from a resource center started by Eastern New Mexico University faculty and staff, they now operate as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center. Their addiction services address substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions through outpatient counseling, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), ongoing recovery groups, and medication-assisted treatment. No one is turned away for inability to pay, and a sliding fee scale based on household size and income is available.
Care typically starts with an assessment and planning session with a therapist to match each person with the right level of support. The IOP offers a time-limited, structured setting for early recovery, combining group sessions three days a week with individual counseling that addresses both substance use and underlying mental health concerns. After IOP, people can step down to outpatient substance use groups, which also meet three times weekly and focus on relapse prevention and staying sober. Individual and family counseling, psychiatry and medication management, peer support, crisis services, telehealth, and supportive housing round out their offerings, and teens aged 14 and older can request confidential counseling on their own.
