About Mental Health Clinic

The Mental Health Clinic in Hyannis, Massachusetts, is the Cape Cod outpatient location of Child & Family Services, a nonprofit that is the largest behavioral and mental health provider in Southeastern Massachusetts. They serve children, adults, and families with both urgent and routine outpatient care, including assessments, individual therapy, and groups. Their care addresses mental health and substance use needs, and the organization emphasizes health equity and reducing barriers to access. The state has designated them a Community Behavioral Health Center and a Behavioral Health Urgent Care provider.

Through their open-access urgent care model, new clients can get same- or next-day mental health assessments without a referral, along with urgent psychopharmacology appointments, psychiatric medication consultations, and referrals for addiction medication evaluations. Sessions are offered in person or by telehealth, with extended weekday hours and select Saturday mornings, and staff connect clients to other internal or community programs when a different level of care is needed. They also provide treatment in several Cape Cod school districts and other community settings. Families with children and youth ages 3 to 21 on MassHealth may qualify for In-Home Therapy, an intensive program in which a clinical team meets with the family twice weekly for 12 to 18 months to build communication, safety planning, and problem-solving skills.
