About Mens Recovery Program

The Men’s Recovery Program in Albany, New York, is a 20-bed residential rehabilitation program for men 18 and older, operated by Hope House, Inc. and licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Hope House is a non-denominational nonprofit that began in 1967 as a small treatment home for men in Albany’s South End and now runs residential and outpatient services across the Capital Region. They believe in multiple pathways to recovery, pairing clinical counseling with medication when it helps, and they serve people regardless of age, background, arrest or conviction record, or ability to pay.

Daily life in the program is structured around group therapy every day and individual counseling each week, with primary medical care and mental health services available on-site. Recreation is built into the schedule, and the Livingston Avenue facility includes a recreation room and gymnasium. Families are encouraged to stay involved through scheduled visiting times, which help men rebuild relationships and sober support during early recovery. Across the agency, Hope House offers medication for opioid, alcohol, and nicotine use disorders, including Suboxone and Vivitrol, and men can step down to their reintegration residence, supportive living apartments, or outpatient clinics, while CDPHP, Fidelis, MVP, and straight Medicaid are accepted.
