About Medasic
Medasic Recovery Clinic is an outpatient addiction medicine practice serving Columbia and other communities across South Carolina, focused primarily on treating opioid use disorder alongside mental health concerns. They approach addiction as a chronic medical condition rather than a moral failing, and their clinics are set up to feel like any other specialist’s office. Care combines medication-assisted treatment, psychiatric medication management, and therapy, and no referral is needed to get started. Each person’s plan is built around their own history and goals, and it is revisited with them when challenges or setbacks come up.
Their opioid treatment centers on buprenorphine (Suboxone), which eases cravings and withdrawal, and naltrexone in the form of Vivitrol, a monthly injection suited to people who have already completed detox. Patients move through a structured process that begins with a thorough assessment, continues through medication induction and dose stabilization, and then shifts to regular maintenance visits with ongoing access to their provider. For people with co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, or sleep problems, psychiatric evaluation and medication management are folded into the same treatment plan, so addiction and mental health providers coordinate rather than working separately. Their affiliated nonprofit, the Medasic Foundation, helps fund treatment and offers counseling and resource navigation for people who need extra support.
