About Matt Talbot Center

The Matt Talbot Center is a Christian faith-based recovery program in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, run by Catholic Community Services of Western Washington since 1985. They work with adults facing substance use alongside mental health challenges and homelessness, and they welcome people of every background, faith, and identity. Care is offered through substance use disorder intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient (OP) groups, overseen by a certified substance use disorder professional. Their approach treats each participant, whom they call a “member,” as a whole person with physical, mental, and spiritual needs.

Clinical care includes individual and group counseling, crisis intervention with referrals, psychiatric consultation, and periodic urine testing. Life skills groups cover practical topics such as decision making, family and relationships, employment, communication, stress management, money management, and goal setting. Because many members are unhoused, they connect people to shelter housing through Immanuel Community Services and provide meals, clothing, hygiene supplies, and other basic necessities. Members can also join yoga, journaling, and art sessions, nature outings and other recreational trips, a Sunday breakfast and fellowship gathering, and holiday dinners and gift programs.
