About Lynn Community Health Center Inc
Lynn Community Health Center is a nonprofit, multicultural community health center in Lynn, Massachusetts, where addiction treatment is built into primary care alongside behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, and other services. Their approach to substance use disorders addresses the medical, behavioral, and social sides of addiction, with care plans shaped around each person and input from peer recovery coaches and patients. They treat opioid, alcohol, nicotine, and other substance use disorders through outpatient services that include walk-in and same-day options. Care is available regardless of ability to pay, and staff can help uninsured patients find coverage.
Medication for opioid use disorder is a core part of their program. Sublingual buprenorphine (Suboxone) is offered on every primary care team, while the long-acting injectable form is available on certain teams, and naltrexone comes as a pill or monthly injection that can also treat alcohol use disorder. Methadone is not prescribed on site, though they can refer patients who prefer it. Same-day buprenorphine starts are available at the main campus, even for people who are not existing patients and who arrive without insurance or ID. Beyond medication, patients can join group therapy, work one-on-one with behavioral health clinicians, meet with peer recovery coaches, and get help with housing and employment. Free Narcan kits and training are open to anyone, the Moms Do Care program supports pregnant and parenting people in recovery, and a Medical Outreach Program brings addiction care to people on the street who struggle to reach a clinic.
