About Louisville Recovery Center
Louisville Recovery Center is an addiction and mental health treatment center in Louisville, Kentucky, built around treating the whole person rather than the addiction alone. Their care combines behavioral and experiential therapies with medication-assisted treatment and nutritional support, and each client receives an individualized plan. Levels of care include a residential partial hospitalization program lasting roughly 90 to 120 days, intensive outpatient treatment, and aftercare. They also offer dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring conditions, plus mental health PHP and IOP for adults and a mental health IOP for adolescents. A defining feature is their commitment to stay engaged with clients for at least a year through peer coaching and alumni services.
Their intensive outpatient program typically runs 8 to 12 weeks, with daytime sessions on weekday mornings and evening sessions three nights a week for people balancing work or family. IOP combines group work on relapse prevention, stress management, emotional regulation, and assertiveness with at least one individual counseling session per week, family sessions, medication management when needed, and regular drug and alcohol testing. Many of their clinicians are trained in EMDR for trauma, and the holistic side of care includes breathwork, meditation, and equine therapy, which reflects founder Patrick Dunn’s long background with therapeutic horses. For those who want it, a Christ-centered foundation is also available as part of the recovery community.
