About Locust Street Resource Center
Locust Street Resource Center is a not-for-profit community behavioral health agency based in Carlinville, Illinois, serving several counties in the central part of the state. For more than 40 years, they have offered mental health, substance use, developmental disability, and senior services to youth, families, adults, and older adults. Their care is outpatient and shaped around each person’s needs, with an emphasis on prompt, effective help that supports recovery. Because addiction and mental health services are available under one roof, people dealing with both can find support in the same place.
Their substance use program is led by licensed staff who provide evaluations, interventions, and ongoing treatment for both adolescents and adults. Treatment includes individual and group sessions offered at their Carlinville and Carrollton offices, and evening hours on some weekdays can make it easier to fit appointments around work or school. They also run a 24-hour crisis response service and the Living Room, a free drop-in space in Carlinville that adults 18 and older can visit at any hour of any day. Staff there listen, help visitors work through stress or rising mental health symptoms, and connect them with local resources, even if they aren’t current clients.
