About Light of Truth Center
Light of Truth Center is a Baltimore, Maryland, recovery program for women 21 and older who are working to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. They organize care around a three-part path of recovery, transition, and restoration, and residents live together as a family unit, supporting their own and each other’s sobriety. Services include a CARF-accredited ASAM Level 3.1 low-intensity residential program, outpatient (OP) treatment, and transitional and long-term recovery housing, along with referrals to outside services when needed.
Housing is spread across several small homes, most with four participants and one with ten, each staffed by a peer recovery housing specialist, and some are certified through MCORR. Women generally enter through a referral from a counselor or case worker after a clinical assessment, a phone intake, and a tour, though self-referrals are considered case by case. First-level housing requires 28 to 30 days of sobriety or a completed detox, while second-level housing requires nine months or more, with single and double rooms at $450 and $350 per month. Residents are expected to attend 12-step meetings or follow another recovery pathway and meet with clinical staff, and the program also offers education on managing medications and understanding patient rights. Women who need a more intensive level of care or medication management alone are referred to a better-suited provider.
