About Lifeways
Lifeways is a community behavioral health provider based in Ontario, Oregon, offering substance use, mental health, and developmental disability services to people across Oregon and Idaho for more than 25 years. Their approach centers on meeting people where they are, whether someone is in crisis or simply trying to get back on track. Addiction care includes low-barrier outpatient alcohol and drug treatment, a co-ed Level 3.1 residential program at the Lifeways Recovery Center, recovery housing, and medication-assisted treatment. No one is turned away for inability to pay, and a sliding fee scale based on income and family size is available.
Outpatient treatment is tailored to each person’s needs and combines individual and group counseling, case management, random urinalysis, SMART Recovery, and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). Residential stays typically last at least 90 days, and recovery housing offers a sober living step-down for those leaving residential care or needing extra stability. Certified Recovery Mentors with lived experience help clients navigate health services, the courts, and employment, while supported employment, parenting classes for parents in recovery, and harm reduction services round out the program. They also serve justice-involved clients through ASAM-based DUII education and rehabilitation, a 12-week anger management group, and a state-aligned domestic violence intervention program, and they offer gambling treatment to any Oregon resident or family member affected.
