About Lifeline Connections
Lifeline Connections is a community-based behavioral health organization that has served the Pacific Northwest since 1962, and their Bellingham, WA, location is part of a network of offices treating substance use and mental health conditions. In Bellingham, they run a Men’s Low-Intensity Residential program and a walk-in Rapid Response Clinic for quick access to addiction medication. Across their locations, care ranges from medically assisted withdrawal management and residential treatment to outpatient and intensive outpatient services, many of which are also available by telehealth. They are in-network with most major insurance plans and offer a sliding-fee scale for those who qualify.
Residential care combines individual and group therapy with education classes and recreational and social activities, and some programs add equine-assisted therapy. Men and women are treated in separate programs, and women’s and pregnant and parenting women’s residential care is based in Vancouver, as is a 16-bed detox unit with typical stays of three to five days. Their medication assisted recovery program, which includes Suboxone, helps people manage cravings and withdrawal from opioids and alcohol, and peer support helps patients build a recovery network that lasts beyond treatment. They also provide court-referred diversion treatment as an alternative to jail, along with one of the few outpatient programs in the country staffed by Deaf and hard-of-hearing counselors who are fluent in American Sign Language.
