About Life Help Mental Health Ctr/Region 6

Life Help Mental Health Center/Region 6 is a public, nonprofit community behavioral health agency that has served the Mississippi Delta and surrounding area since 1968, with a county clinic in Clarksdale for Coahoma County residents. Certified and partially funded by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, they help people facing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, anger, alcohol or drug problems, psychosis, suicidal thoughts, and dementia-related concerns. Their care is community-based, ranging from outpatient counseling and psychiatric services to structured day programs and mobile crisis response, with a 24/7 crisis line for emergencies. Fees follow a sliding scale based on income and household size, Medicaid, Medicare, and many private plans are accepted, and no one is turned away for inability to pay.

For adults, outpatient services include assessment and treatment planning, individual, group, and family therapy, dual diagnosis groups for co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, anger management, psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, nursing, pharmacy, and telehealth. People living with serious mental illness can join psychosocial rehabilitation programs that run five hours a day, five days a week, with meals and transportation included, and a senior version serves adults 50 and older. Mobile crisis teams meet people where a crisis is happening and provide follow-up afterward, while community support specialists, supported employment, and an intensive 24/7 community recovery team help clients stay stable in their own homes. Children and youth ages 3 to 21 can receive school-based day treatment, individual, group, and family therapy, care from child psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, and wraparound planning for families managing complex needs.
