About Korean Community Services Inc

Korean Community Services, now operating as KCS Health Center, is a nonprofit federally qualified health center with clinics, counseling offices, and community sites across Orange County, California. They offer addiction medicine as part of a broader health home that also includes primary care, behavioral health, dental, pediatrics, and optometry, so substance use treatment can be coordinated with the rest of a person’s medical and mental health care. Founded in 1977 as a church mission project, they spent decades providing counseling and social services, including court-related counseling for drunk driving and drug offenses, before becoming a community clinic. Care is available in English, Korean, Spanish, and Chinese, with interpreters for other languages.

Their substance use disorder program centers on medication-assisted treatment, and no referral or prior authorization is needed to begin. Patients can pair that care with behavioral health services such as individual therapy, psychiatry, and medication management, as well as acupuncture and chiropractic care for pain and overall wellness. Video visits are available for SUD treatment, an in-house pharmacy fills prescriptions at select locations, and transportation support can help with getting to appointments. They accept Medi-Cal plans, including CalOptima, as well as Medicare, and they offer a sliding fee scale based on income and household size.
