KISA Life Recovery is a women-only alcohol and drug treatment center in rural Sedan, Kansas, offering residential care in a quiet country setting. They were built around the idea that women develop and recover from addiction differently than men, and they focus on mothers, homemakers, and working women who need a place to heal. Their approach is holistic, addressing physical health, emotional wounds, and spiritual well-being together, with particular attention to the trauma that often sits underneath substance use. The program is owned and run by women, and counseling is provided by women.

Therapy combines individual cognitive behavioral therapy with group counseling, experiential group work, family sculpting, and art therapy, giving women several ways to work through difficult emotions. Counselors put special emphasis on helping clients uncover and recover from physical, sexual, and emotional trauma, which they see as essential to lasting sobriety. Physical recovery is part of the plan as well: residents learn to choose and prepare foods that support healing and steady energy, and they take part in regular exercise, including yoga. Financing is available through loans that can cover co-pays, deductibles, or the full cost of a stay.
