About Kirby Rehabilitation
Kirby Rehabilitation is a community-based behavioral health agency in Chicago, Illinois, offering outpatient substance use treatment alongside DUI services, domestic violence perpetrator programming, anger management, and parenting education. Their mission centers on keeping families together when substance use and violence have taken a toll, and they serve people across Chicago and nearby communities such as Hyde Park, South Shore, Roseland, and Markham, with a strong focus on the African American community. Substance use care runs through early intervention, risk education, standard outpatient, and intensive outpatient levels for clients roughly 14 to 65 years old. Each person works with staff from the first assessment through discharge and follow-up on a plan shaped around their own needs.
Their intensive outpatient program meets three hours a day, three days a week, and combines individual and group counseling, skills development, education, family groups, and continuing care, while the lighter outpatient track adds case management, referrals to medical and psychiatric services, and links to 12-step support. Every client is paired with a primary addictions counselor and receives at least two one-on-one sessions each week, with remote sessions available by telehealth. Beyond core treatment, they provide DUI evaluations and classes, toxicology screenings, a reentry program for people leaving jail after drug or domestic offenses, and adolescent services that include substance use, conflict resolution, and restorative justice peace circles. They accept Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay, and many clients are referred by courts or social service agencies.
