Kingwood VA Clinic is a community outpatient clinic in Humble, Texas, operated by VA Houston Health Care to serve Veterans in the area. Approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy for substance use, Twelve Step Facilitation, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, couples and family therapy, peer support, and contingency management for stimulant use. An intensive outpatient program follows the Matrix model, while outpatient detox and medication-assisted treatment for alcohol and opioid use disorders are available through the general behavioral health team, with residential rehabilitation available by referral. For Veterans dealing with trauma and substance use together, the PTSD Clinical Team offers Seeking Safety and concurrent treatment using Prolonged Exposure, with telehealth as well as evening and Saturday hours.
