About Journey Treatment Center

Journey Treatment Center is a private addiction treatment program in the Salt Lake City area, based in Cottonwood Heights, serving adult men and women 18 and older who are struggling with drug and alcohol dependency. The program was started by people in long-term recovery and by family members who have watched loved ones struggle or lost them to addiction, and they set out to build the kind of care they would want for their own families. Care spans social detox for people facing severe withdrawal, residential treatment lasting 30 to 90 days in a home-like setting, day treatment (PHP), intensive outpatient, and general outpatient services. As they grew, they opened a second residence, Baylor’s House, which follows the same clinical approach and structure.

Their curriculum runs more than 20 weeks and is designed to step clients down gradually from residential care to lighter levels of support. Day treatment requires at least 20 hours a week over four to five days, while IOP meets Monday through Thursday evenings with an added Friday morning session, so clients can keep working while staying accountable. Clinicians draw on Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, REBT, EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and 12-step facilitation. Alongside this clinical work, clients have access to 12-step meetings, reiki, mindfulness, fitness, and music therapy through a partnership with Fit to Recover, and staff are available around the clock to support both clients and their families.
