About Journey to Wellness Inc
Journey to Wellness is an outpatient addiction treatment center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, serving Middlesex County and the surrounding area since 2009. They treat alcohol and drug use along with gambling, food, sex, smoking, and co-dependency, and they also work with people facing co-occurring mental health conditions or the effects of emotional trauma. Care is offered at the outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial care levels. Their approach is client-centered and solution-focused, blending conventional and brief therapies with holistic methods and drawing family and community support into the recovery process.
Treatment combines individual and group counseling with cognitive therapy, couples and family therapy, relapse prevention, skill building, stress management, and spiritual recovery and Twelve-Step groups, as well as dedicated men’s, women’s, and abuse survivors’ groups, including support for those affected by domestic violence and sexual trauma. They offer Vivitrol and Suboxone, a specialized track for professionals, court-ordered evaluations, and an IDRC program for DUI clients that includes random urine testing and family participation. A separate teen program serves adolescents through intensive outpatient care three to five days a week, using CBT, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, family systems therapy, and psychiatric evaluation when needed, and it accepts referrals from schools. Spanish-speaking counselors are on staff, walk-ins are welcome, admission typically happens within 24 hours, and payment options include Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and several court and county programs.
