About John Brooks Recovery Center

John Brooks Recovery Center in Mays Landing, New Jersey, is part of AtlantiCare Addiction Services, a not-for-profit that has served South Jersey for more than 50 years. They treat substance use disorders along with co-occurring mental health conditions, view addiction as a disease that affects the whole family, and build each person’s plan around their own history and goals. Care spans detox management, inpatient residential treatment, outpatient services, telehealth, and a mobile outreach unit, and the program is CARF accredited.

The residential program offers a structured daily routine with 24/7 nursing oversight, individual and group counseling, on-site psychiatric care, and spiritual care, along with same-day admissions. Counseling draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with options for family involvement, smoking cessation support, and on-site 12-Step, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery meetings. Methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone are available at every level of care, and people already on methadone maintenance can enter residential treatment without interrupting their medication. Evening dosing and virtual dosing, when clinically appropriate, help people keep up with work and family responsibilities during treatment.
