About Jeremiahs Inn Inc

Jeremiah’s Inn is a residential substance use disorder treatment program for men in Worcester, Massachusetts, built around a social model of recovery rooted in the Twelve Steps. They serve more than 100 men each year, and their stated focus goes beyond abstinence to helping residents change their thinking and behavior and practice recovery in daily life. Alongside residential treatment, they operate Jeremiah’s House, a 16-bed recovery residence, as well as a nutrition center and food pantry for the surrounding community. Admission is open to Massachusetts residents 18 and older who have a substance use diagnosis and stable medical and mental health, and applicants go through a document review, an interview, and a waiting list.

Treatment plans are individualized using ASAM criteria, and strong case management is paired with peer leadership, so each man both gives and receives support while balancing house duties, family responsibilities, and work. Residents build connections with the wider recovery community through self-help meetings, volunteering with groups such as the Community Harvest Project, and sober outings, which leaves them with an established routine and support network by the time they finish. The program also emphasizes the mind-body connection through small group fitness classes, YMCA access, group hikes, a sober softball league, weekly meditation, and individual Reiki sessions. They report a residential completion rate of 69%, compared with a statewide average of 33%.
