ITRS Outpatient in Lansing, Michigan, is the outpatient substance use disorder program of Integrated Treatment & Recovery Services (formerly Substance Abuse Services), part of the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. As a public agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, the authority aims to serve people with complex behavioral health needs regardless of their insurance coverage. ITRS is built to handle co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, with care that is person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally competent, and they support people in exploring every helpful treatment path, including medication-assisted treatment. Outpatient care covers screening, assessment, and individual and group counseling, and it sits within a broader continuum that includes withdrawal management and residential treatment.

For those who need help before outpatient work, The Recovery Center offers a 10-bed, medically monitored detox stay that typically lasts three to five days, followed by connection to the next level of care. Men can move on to Cedar Roots Recovery in Mason, a 40-bed residential program offering up to 90 days of treatment, and referrals are also made to women’s residential programs. Peer recovery coaching and case management are available, along with behavioral health services embedded in partnering primary care clinics that address issues like depression, anxiety, medication adherence, and nutrition. The outpatient team also provides substance use treatment and crisis mental health intervention inside the Clinton County Jail, reflecting more than five decades of serving the tri-county area.
