About Iris Wellness Group

Iris Wellness Group is an outpatient addiction and mental health treatment center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, serving adults and teens with substance use and co-occurring disorders. They treat dependence on alcohol, opioids, fentanyl, heroin, benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, cocaine, kratom, marijuana, and other substances, alongside conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD. Their levels of care include outpatient detox, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient, and an evening IOP for adolescents. They accept most major insurance plans, and for people without coverage, they draw on community connections across the Southeast to help find another placement.

Adult IOP runs as a half-day program three to five days a week, designed as a step down from PHP so clients can keep up with work or school. Clients who can’t travel can attend IOP, PHP, or outpatient care by video; telehealth IOP typically involves three 3-hour group sessions and one individual session each week for about 12 weeks, plus medication management with a psychiatrist and nurse practitioner. Therapy options include CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, internal family systems, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and family therapy, along with art, music, and other experiential approaches. The teen program pairs these therapies with peer groups so adolescents can stay in school, and aftercare continues through relapse prevention planning, alumni connections, and regular wellness check-ins.
