iRecover US runs a residential addiction treatment center in Howard, South Dakota, and is the sister organization to iRecover Treatment Centers in Canada. Co-founded by Jim Gray, who has been in long-term recovery since 1989, and CEO Dr. Hilgard Goosen, they pair 12-Step principles with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. They treat alcohol, opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines, cannabis, and hallucinogens, as well as gambling and other behavioral addictions, and they often treat several addictions at once. Care starts with medically supervised detox and moves into a 4- or 8-week residential program, with intensive outpatient and behavioral health services offered at their Sioux Falls center.

Detox typically lasts from one day to a week, with around-the-clock nursing, medication management, and psychiatric assessment available. The first four weeks of residential care are classroom-based 12-Step work combined with one-on-one counseling, group therapy, and fellowship meetings. An optional second month of structured CBT can be completed on-site or through outpatient care in Sioux Falls, where flexible IOP, dual diagnosis treatment, trauma-informed therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy, and family counseling are also available. The Howard facility is adult-only and co-ed, with private ensuite rooms and Sunday family visits; admission requires no referral and can often happen the same day, and graduates receive lifetime aftercare, alumni group membership, and access to an aftercare app.
