About Horizon Services Inc
Horizon Services is a nonprofit substance use and mental health treatment provider that has served the San Francisco Bay Area since 1976, with programs in Pleasanton and across Alameda, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties. Their mission centers on restoring hope, self-awareness, and community through trauma-informed prevention, treatment, and recovery services for people of every race, gender, class, and sexual orientation. Care spans sobering centers, detox, residential treatment, adult and youth outpatient counseling, and a diversion program. They accept Medi-Cal, and eligible members can often receive care at no cost.
In Pleasanton, Project Eden Adult Outpatient offers group and individual counseling for people living at home and welcomes court-ordered clients. The Diversion Triage Center there gives adults in a mild to moderate crisis an alternative to jail or unnecessary hospitalization, with referrals coming from law enforcement, crisis teams, and community programs. Elsewhere in the network, people can complete withdrawal management at Palm Avenue Detox or Cherry Hill Detox and then move into Cronin House, a co-ed residential program with stays of up to 90 days, without having to start over. For teens and young adults, Project Eden pairs individual, family, and group counseling with parent support groups and school-based prevention, and Horizon offers bilingual support and LGBTQIA+ affirming care throughout.
